Matilla Realty, Inc. started personalized real estate operations in Playa Del Rey,in 1989, under the management of broker Steven Matilla.
Following in the footsteps of his parents and brother (Luc, Shirley and Daniel), who managed and operated the old T.O. McCoy real estate agency in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, Steve was able to build a successful business that caught the eye of a corporate real estate giant – ERA – and joined their franchise system in 2003 and operated ERA Matilla Realty until December 2023.
The company, and Steven, were recipients of many ERA national awards over the years to include: the “Superior Performance Award” in 2008 – given to the top 200 offices within the franchise system and the prestigious “Leadership Team Award” for the top 50 selling brokers nationally, earned 3 times by Steven in 2004,2005, 2007. In 2010,Steve became a graduate of ERA’s Real Estate Top Gun Academy.
Today, Matilla Realty, Inc. is one of the most time tested and familiar business establishments in Playa Del Rey and now includes a well recognized property management division, known as Matilla Group Property Management LLC, which now manages over 80 properties locally.
Steven graduated from St. Bernard High School in 1966, from Loyola University in 1970, from USC School of Dentistry in 1975 and from the Center For Entrepreneurial Management in 1986. God, family, golfing, biking and friends are his delight.
